| "I grew up in the Santa Monica Mountains, and I enjoy painting that environment. It's a challenge to paint what is most familiar, to journey deep into the commonplace to find the unique. My paintings are about light, form, and color, and I find the use of a limited palette allows me the freedom to concentrate on my subject. Watercolors are spontaneous in character, free flowing and full of surprises. My process involves visiting a locale, taking photographs, making sketches, and hiking though the area to absorb its uniqueness." | ||
